Big Pete Updates For 2005

Well, a few people have mentioned the lack of recent updates on the site so here we go:

Sally’s been hard at it with the promotion and development of our corporate days, hopefully these will be in full operation soon. Who would have thought that letting you fans drive one of the most unique vehicles in the country would involve so much planning!

The Scania and trailer have both had a full service to ensure all systems are in working order for the coming season. We should have some work in progress photos soon, just keep an eye on our galleries.

The team has been investing in a bit of hardware for the corporate days. I aren’t allowed to say much yet but it’s loud and fast.

Make sure you check back later for further news 😉

Big Pete News and Crew Update From January

Welcome to 2004, and happy new year. Here are a few updates involving Big Pete and the crew from January 2004!

2004 Calender
There have been a couple of extra bookings confirmed now so be sure to keep checking on the events page.

A bit dissapointing this month. Whilst parked overnight on a garage forecourt in Hebdon Bridge, someone decided they liked the look of the stacks on the back of the truck and removed one of the silencers from the system. As a temporary measure we have borrowed one to keep the noise down but this is a big expense we didn’t want to make. Be sure that if we find who did this their house will be attached to a large chain and dragged around the valley.

Crew News
Joey’s been up to his tricks again in Ecuador. Latest reports say he was nearly arrested by a columbian border patrol when he and an aussie got lost in the jungle. Neither of them had any form of ID or money on them at the time. Any way they managed to find their way back and he is decending to the beach to relax for a while. The donkeys had a hard time in the mountins, apparently it can be very loney up there!!!

Big Pete Attends Donnington Truck GP / Scania Update

Donnington Truck GP

We attended the Donnington truck GP on the 9th of November, sorry there was no warning on the site about that. We attended the show in association with R D Gill transport who put on a custom truck show at the event. This gave the ‘new’ scania her first outing and thankfully all went well. Joey will have to spend a bit more time under the dash to sort a few switches out. Joey or Floyd did not attend the event.

As expected it wasn’t long before the Scania’s previous owner, a Mr Brian Dobson made himself aware to us. This gave us a lot more background on the truck and it’s history. A gallery will be going up shortly as we develop the truck back to show stamndard. If you would like to see your products associated with the truck and team then please get in touch.

The Big Pete team are the proud owners of a Scania 143M Topliner

The Big Pete team are now the proud owners of a Scania 143M Topliner. This will be used to transport the monster around the country, check out the pictures below!

Many thanks go out to Steve Murty for the loan of his Cargo throughout the past season.

The Scania is a former Truckfest Peterborough working show truck winner (so we’ve been told). It was last operated by Nigel Williams of Kings Lynn. The truck was off the road due to electrical problems, these have been sorted by Joey and the truck is now fully operational.

We plan to get the truck back up to show standard for the next season, look out for it at the shows.
